Many different types of insurance cover medical transportation.

  • All North Carolina Medicaid plans provide transportation benefits. These trips are scheduled with the contact center or transportation broker. If you’d like to switch to our service, you can contact your insurance provider and ask for MAGNET.
  • Some Medicare Advantage plans will offer medical transportation. These are also arranged through a broker for ambulatory and wheelchair trips.
  • Medicare will cover non-emergency ambulance services if you qualify. This can be for appointments from home or a nursing facility, or recurring trips like dialysis. Original Medicare does not currently cover wheelchair or ambulatory transportation in any form.
  • For insurance providers we don’t work with, we are always happy to provide a detailed invoice that you can submit for reimbursement. Insurance coverage for transportation is becoming more common, so ask your insurance company if they offer this service. We accept payment via credit card, check, or cash.
